Leaside was settled by the Lea family in the early years of the Nineteenth Century , the Town of Leaside
was officially incorporated on April 23 1913.
Located in Toronto's former Borough of East York, Leaside is a lovely retreat hidden in the heart of our bustling Megacity only minutes to downtown via the bayview extension .
Surrounded with the conveniences of downtown living, Leaside offers local boutiques, restaurants, schools, skating rink, swimming pool, tennis club, library, churches, parks and TTC access. Bus routes provide fast service to Eglinton, St.Clair and Davisville Subway stations.

Dear Bessborough Families,
The award winning Northlea Community Blood Donor Clinic has been helping to save lives for over 7 years. The need continues.Leaside has donated 1,497 units of blood to date, saving over 4,521 lives, making us one of Canada's most successful community run clinics.
Please join us. Bring a friend or send a designated donor! If you have never donated before, now is the best time to start. Help us keep this Leaside tradition going.

In November of 2002, two Leaside area students were diagnosed with leukemia in the same week. They required blood transfusions to save their lives and help them fight the disease. The Leaside community began running blood donor clinics twice a year to support them in their battle. Both students in honour of whom we began these clinics have finished treatment. One continues to need monthly transfusions of a blood product to fight infection. One thousand donors are needed to provide just one month's unit of the necessary product.
The need continues. 50% of Canadians will need blood in their lifetime. It could be your child, your father, a friend or a neighbour. Once again, in Leaside, it is. A Leaside father, neighbour, and friend underwent lifesaving surgery for a sudden, severe infection. In March 2008, Paul Kocher needed 49 units of blood as part of his treatment. People like you helped save his life. There are others just like him in our neighbourhood who need blood to fight cancer, save their lives or improve their quality of life while managing chronic illness.
You can continue to show your support for Noah, Emmy and now Paul by rolling up your sleeves. Many thanks in advance for being part of this clinic and for giving the "gift of life".
